My Teacher Drives Education To The Top
Date: 4/28/2014

Education is a journey of a lifetime, and a great teacher behind the wheel can DRIVE it to the top! Kidsville News and Alamo Toyota has teamed up to recognize outstanding educators that inspire their student and make a difference in their future each and every day.

The selections this year were very difficult, however one teacher really touched a cord with us! This year's winner of "Drives Education To The Top" is Ms. Annie Tiller from Hardy Oak Elementary.

When people talk about Ms. Annie Tiller they paint this beautiful picture of what an AMAZING teacher is. Imagine a free spirited, happy, outgoing woman who always seems to find the best in everyone she comes in contact with. From the youngest child to the head of the school. This woman is a team builder and a cheerleader at the same time.  Parents love her because she keeps them involved every step of the way whether their child is an easy going shining star, or a struggling student trying to reach their full potential. She constantly communicates, praises and offers real tangible action plans for both students and parents. This kind of excitement and dedication is often found in new teachers eager to make a difference, however she is a season veteran and hasn't missed a beat! She creates a fun engaging environment that makes the day go by quickly and ignites her young students to thirst for more. She's has a huge heart that takes the time to really learn each child especially those with special needs. She's very hands on and never turns away a difficult task. She truly believes and tries to live the example of everyone makes a difference. Her colleagues praise her for her continuous willingness to learn new concepts and expand her knowledge and look for new ways to teach.  She's a huge contributor to her campus and loves to assist new teachers and families that join their school.  Most of all, it's so touching to know that there are teachers out there like her that live, love and teach the seeds for our next great leaders with such compassion.
